A NAME WITH TRADITION
My grandfather Wilhelm Kling was born in 1875 and he was one of the first Germans who trained as a gemstone-setter to work for the company Mala in Pforzheim, Germany.
His son, William Kling, born in 1913, also learned the gemstone-setting craft. He became self-employed after the war and practiced his craft up to a ripe old age. Juwelenfasser Kling Pforzheim.
THE OBLIGATION OF TRADITION
From my father I learned to love this profession. After a few years working in Vienna and my Masterclass Graduation in 1976, I took over part of my father’s business in 1978 as a Master of gemstone-setting. Since 1979 I train apprentices, some of which achieved the status of Winners of the Guild in this profession. Microscope gemstone-setter Kling Pforzheim Brilli Willi.
ALWAYS UP TO DATE WITH TECHNOLOGY
In the year 1994 our company was converted to microscope and electric / pneumatic graver techniques. Since 1995 we perform gemstone setting demonstrations at the Munich and Basel jewelery fairs. In 2009, we enlarged our workshop with additional equipment and tools to meet high-tech demands.
